to respond to the issue of the legal rights of the parents. In the case outlined, the legal rights of the parents must be considered on a couple of
different tiers. First, the two parents (Rebecca and Evans biological mother and biological father) both have the right to visitation with the children, and the mothers request that the
day care providers not allow their biological father to pick them up at day care violates his rights as a participatory parent. Though the mother may request that she
be contacted before their biological father leaves with the children, she cannot simply take away his rights as a parent to have access to his children because it does not
correspond with her expectations for her family situation. In terms of communication and confidentiality, the parents have the right to expect and demand confidentiality between themselves and care providers that
stays within the realm of the professional environment as a whole. Confidentiality does not mean that one care provider will not discuss the situation with other care providers; instead,
confidentiality means that the discussions about issues of Evan and Rebeccas care, family conflicts, and the reasons that Evan is bringing toys to school will be kept within the professional
