resurgence of interest in this practice. The terms themselves, which will be defined, are confusing in themselves. Christian healing began with Jesus Christ and the reports of Christ healing a
couple of dozen people with physical and mental illnesses. Christ gave His Apostles the power to heal and they did so. But, somewhere in the subsequent centuries, healing became less
and less important to the Church and to the community. Numerous faith healers have been recorded in history, including Mary Baker Eddy who founded a church, the Christian Science Church.
Members of this church do not believe in doctors and will not see a doctor or any other official health care practitioner. In recent years, there has been a
renewal of charismatic Christian healing. While these practices have been part of Pentecostal churches since their beginning, charismatic healing is becoming more mainstream and can even be found in the
Roman Catholic Church. There are a number of issues regarding charismatic Christian healing. The first one is whether or not anyone should rely exclusively on Christian healing practices when
they are sick or when their children are sick as do Christian Scientists? The next one has to do specifically with the efficacy and validity of true charismatic Christian healing?
Are the criteria for the charismatic part founded on Scripture? If the criteria for the charismatic identity is not founded on Scripture, then, can those who adhere to the principles
