time. There are many reasons why one might like the story. On the surface, it contains a thrilling plot involving danger and adventure. On a deeper level, it probes some
insights into the bestial character of humanity, likening man to the same beasts hunted by the big game hunters whose story the tale tells. It is also a technical marvel,
being a very well-constructed story that adheres to traditional frameworks of solid, impactful storytelling. In presenting this narrative, Connell skillfully employs a triangular framework in which the action accelerates towards
some climax, crests at a pivotal point in the story, and then falls off again in the final pages as some resolution is reached. Additionally, he also uses a variety
of literary techniques to deeply imbue his characters with memorable personalities in the course of just a handful of pages. This paragraph helps the student present a summary of
the story. The tale told is a simple one, but one which contains a great deal of dramatic irony and thematic value. Rainsford, a big game hunter, falls off of
a yacht and swims to an island where he meets a retired Russian general and his servant Ivan; the general, Zaroff, is also a big game hunter. Over the course
