managers must be able to assess the needs of the organization and they must do so accurately and in a timely manner (Sisco, 2003). * Create a vision, which does

expertise in skills required for the task (Sisco, 2003). * Ability to focus the resources where they are most needed. This includes talent, money, technology and other resources (Sisco, 2003).
* Adopt a client service mindset so that the focus is always on what the client or customer needs and expects (Sisco, 2003). * Ability to manage projects. Since IT
activities are typically performed in teams, the IT manager must also be able to manage the team, which requires both leadership and management skills (Sisco, 2003). * Ability to
implement change management processes. Any new technology inherently means there will be changes. IT managers need to know and understand change processes and how to manage that process (Sisco, 2003).
