like Charles Mason got his girls to do the work for him. Yet, Lady Macbeth was not ultimately responsible for the many more murders to come. In fact, she would
go crazy and soon be out of the picture. The sisters--or witches--simply made predictions. It was a shame that Macbeth took them to heart, and became obsessed. While one might
feel sorry for him, due to the twists of fate he encountered, it seems as if William Shakespeare fully intended Macbeth to take responsibility for his actions. In fact,
it had been the characteristics of Macbeth that propelled him to do such sordid deeds. Macbeth was passive, evil and disloyal, three traits that could obviously get someone into trouble.
He is the quintessential sociopath, not caring about anything. He owes no one anything and is willing to go along with wherever the wind would take him. Macbeth seems to
be passive to some extent, letting life pass by and allowing others to control him. He lets the three sisters control his fate, and he stands by while his wife
plots a murder. Finally, he allows himself to be killed by an enemy. A true heroic character would have won the final battle, but this passive character allows others to
control his fate. One cannot deny that Macbeth expresses a unique fascination with the weird sisters and that he is also intrigued by the fact that they make predictions.
He is somewhat like victims of the psychic hotline who allow themselves to believe these characters and in some way, things result in a self-fulfilling prophesy. Here, the sisters really
are psychic, but that is beside the point. Macbeth allows himself to be ruled by the prediction and demonstrates that as a character he is indeed weak. Lady Macbeth
