"peace of God." He felt overwhelmed. Though he needed something to pull him out of the raging river of his life, he did not believe that a morning
in church would provide that help or reduce his anger. The day had started just as every day did. His wife called for him two or three
times to get out of bed, but his night out the evening before was still swimming in his head. Her voice grated, and he tried to ignore, tried not
to hear her repeat and repeat again. Each shrill of her voice pushed his fingers into a tighter ball; each step she took towards the door pushed the vision of
her neck into the palm of his hands. This was not the first time he had felt rage. When he was only ten, his younger brother, Jason, who
was six, fell into a river behind their familys old livestock barn. Ron had told him time and time again to stay off the bank of the river, but
Jason never listened. He raced after a floating leaf and lost his balance. Ron chased Jasons seemingly lifeless body as it floated down the river close to the
