sales-oriented company to a solutions-based one. In order to construct this solution, it considers information provided by the company itself as to the purpose of the restructuring, discusses some the
problems presented by the restructuring, including personnel problems; and suggests the best way to implement the solution and measure its success. Situational Analysis - Issue and Opportunity Identification InterClean faces
some challenges with making the transition to a solutions-based company. Before this model can be successfully implemented the sales staff needs to be trained on the current issues, laws and
regulations regarding sanitation, environmental regulation, and OSHA standards. At present, the staff lacks skills and knowledge in this area. InterClean has to spend money and create a skill development program
for its staff. To help in this effort, the company is performing a skill assessment of the sales force to determine the weak and strong areas within the
department. This means that many employees face losing their current positions as new hire replacements are brought into the company. Employee turnover is costly for any company, and InterClean
is faced with the considerable task of recruiting and selecting new staff. Terminations of the sort that are likely to result in this situation result in low morale amongst
the employees, especially with regard to job security; they may also express mistrust and lose confidence in management. Another issue that presents itself in connection with the change within
