money. Aronowitz says that good work may be equated with play, and this is something what occurs when workers have shared purposes (Kincheloe 69). Indeed, some say that one should
follow his or her bliss. This idea is also equated with the perspective that if one does what they love, the money will follow. Both a spiritual concept and a
practical one, it implies that when one is happy with a vocation, the work will be of better quality. It is a sensible notion. There are basically two ways to
look at the world of work: one is to see it as simply a way to run an economy and the other is to look at work as equated with
a life purpose or professional goal. When it comes to work reform, some changes affect the way that people are treated and how they get paid. In some professions, unions
play a key role. Many employees are unhappy with the rules set by the government or private employer. For example, teachers work for counties and cities and they are paid
what the city budget will allow. It is difficult for individual employees to argue with the governmental bureaucracy that pays their salaries. Job actions are sometimes necessary to effect change.
