organizational change The key organizational change that must occur in order to facilitate widespread adoption of electronic health records is the distillation of the core functions of the average
health care facility. Simply put, there are three main objectives which must be met in order for it to be accurately said that an organization has successfully implemented electronic health
records: an overall increase in the efficiency of organizational operations, a reduction in the cost of health care services, and an increase in the quality of care delivered. -Describe
the organizational change Each of these key points is addressed by the adoption of a centralized information system that focuses on sharing information across a network, dynamically updating records,
and adding efficiency to common processes that rely upon that information. For instance, most modern conceptions of electronic health records assume that prescriber orders will be a part of the
system (Horning, 2011). An integrated information system will allow the prescriber to immediately view relevant information such as patient history, current medication, and possible interactions. The immediate dissemination of prescription
