like himself. The Don Quixote character is well known in literature but as a character for which the book is named he become larger than life. He is not unlike
Robin Hood and takes on the traits of the cartoon Mr. Magoo. He seems to see things that no other human beings can see. In some way Don Quixote represents
the nature of people deep down. Certainly, there are many people who would love to leave their day jobs, and take a trek across the country merely meeting people along
the way. From such adventures come remarkable insights into humanity and what life is all about. Such readers may be tired of their own existence and want to embark on
a quest, but they have bills to pay, so put such ideas off until retirement. Of course, it takes a unique-or crazy-- person to do something like what Quixote does.
Don Quixote once again does hallucinate, or seemingly does so. He sees the world differently and is not unlike the quintessential artist or writer who creates castles in the air.
Don Quixote above all provides a sense of hope for ordinary people. He embarks on an creating an extraordinary life despite the fact that he was born to ordinary means.
The book to some extent busts through the myth that one has to be born into royalty in order to live like it. Don Quixote is someone who knights himself
and does not wait for authority to endow him with prestige. He in fact does everything all by himself. At least, the decisions are his. However, he does have a
"partner in crime" by the name of Sancho Panza, who goes along with Quixotes crazy schemes. The pair to some extent each posses traits that are complimentary to the other.
