(Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007). The difference between an accountant and a certified public accountant is that the one who is certified has additional training and has successfully passed a
state certification exam (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007). This is a long, multi-day exam but the candidate can find extra tutoring help to prepare for the exam. Furthermore, the CPA
has more job opportunities available. For example, most people want a CPA to complete their income tax reports. The CPA needs at least a bachelors degree in an accounting field
from an accredited institution of higher learning (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007). The individual would then obtain the additional training and take the exam as mentioned earlier. Certified public accounting
is a vast field with numerous opportunities and specialties. Some of those specialties include forensic accounting, entertainment/show biz accounting and environmental accounting (Half, 2007). Forensic accounting is a bit like
detective work, the accountant uncovers fraud, identifies the culprits and then, gives the evidence to the FBI (Vogt, 2007). This is one of the fastest-growing sectors in accounting because fraud
