This 6 page paper considers a number of events applying tort law. Bill holds a garage sale, Mavis trips and on an uneven pavement on the property while distracted and Doreen hit by a falling ceiling tile and subsequently dies. In addition to this a feed company has sold genetically modified feed to a chicken farmer who sells organic eggs. Bill purchases these eggs believing them to be organic. A nearby chicken farmer is also impacted as he can no longer sell his eggs as organic due to the proximity of the genetically engineers feed. Each of these cases is discussed according to Australian tort law. The bibliography cites 5 sources.

feed, Bill buys some of these eggs, and Xavier who has a nearby farm is unable to call his own eggs organic any longer as a result of the non
organic feed within a 20 km radius of his property. Tort means a wrong, the term comes from tortum which means wrested,
wrung or crooked (Ivamy, 2001). The use of the word tort is usually used to signify as civil wrong that is not part of a contract or breach of
contract (Ivamy, 2000). This includes events such as personal injury. Torts are also actionable, this means that they are grounds for a lawsuit, such as harm resulting in a
claim by the injured party. The remedy of which is generally in the form of monetary compensation for loss suffered (Anonymous, 2001). The main aim of tort law is to
provide a route to gain relief for damages received and costs incurred, at the same time as acting as a deterrent to others. Under the law of tort any injured
person may also be able to apply for an injunction to stop the offensive behavior if it is continuing where it is appropriate (Stewart, 2005). However, for
tort law to be applicable, certain rules have been developed to outline what is and is not actionable and for the bringing of cases to be controlled. We may also
