Canters Behavioral Management Cycle is often very much misunderstood by teachers and other educational professionals. The Cycle focuses on assertive discipline that focuses student
behavior. It is much more than writing down names on the blackboard to note disruptive students or clanking marbles in a jar as an award for good behavior.
There are, in fact, many facets of managing student behavior that are encapsulated by this approach. It is important to remember, however, that this approach is just one facet
of the total educational platform. When employing Canters Behavioral Management Cycle in their classrooms teachers could obviously remain aware that behavior, of course,
can relate to any number of causal factors. These factors can include, but certainly are not limited to, biological, family, school, and culture. Obviously, mitigating for behavioral problems
requires careful attention to the precise factor or factors at play. To demonstrate the incredible complexity of factors that can contribute to behavioral
