from Canterbury Tales, and Shakespeares "Hamlet" we are offered two different, yet powerful, illustrations of Medieval thought. Wife of Bath Chaucers "Canterbury Tales" stand as excellent stories that offer
the reader a glimpse into the society of Chaucers time as well as a glimpse into our own society. One of the most analyzed stories is that which concerns the
Wife of Bath. The story regarding the Wife of Bath is easily one of the most talked about tales as it involves a woman. And, this woman is telling a
story that many believe address feminist issues in one way or another. The Wife of Bath offers many people a look at feminist concerns, both from her perspective and from
the perspective of Chaucer and his society. It is a story that can be seen in many different ways and explicated from many different perspectives. In light of this we
present a look at one or two possibilities concerning how this work illustrates feminine existence, and one small part of Medieval thought. In this story we may argue that
the witch may well have been incredibly deceptive and conniving in her involvement with the knight, and in this we can see the presumed ability of women to control men
and make them do whatever the woman wishes. It has long been the stereotype that some women cannot be trusted. They are intelligent in a particular aspect that men seem
to lack in. They have the ability to subtly coerce a man into behaving just as she desires. And, in this he is often completely ignorant for he is normally
