According to the National Citizens Coalition (2005), the very idea of privatization means a better organization to serve consumers and taxpayers. Gerry Nicholls, vice president of the NCC, contends
that little attention is being paid to the manner by which the CBC is "locking out" (The National Citizens Coalition, 2005) its employee base, inasmuch as the current access to
such technological advances as the Internet, satellite and cable television, Canadians have a number of other choices for news and entertainment that the CBC "has become just another network" (The
National Citizens Coalition, 2005). "We dont need a state-run broadcaster. The CBC as a public entity has outlived its purpose...The billion dollars in tax money that goes into
the CBC every year, could be better spent elsewhere. Its time to privatize the CBC and sell it to the public...Instead of trying to please the government, a private
CBC would have to please the Canadian public" (The National Citizens Coalition, 2005). Being that such competitors as CHUM, CTV and CanWest Global are both privatized and near duplicates
of the current CBC, it stands to reason that privatizing the CBC will provide for the combined objective of profits and consumer satisfaction. At the crux of this argument
is how the time for government-run entities such as the CBC is long past, inasmuch as democratic provinces do not equate with this sort of tactic. The extent to
which privatization removes the implication of an autocrat government is both grand and far-reaching; that the Canadian government espouses to be democratic in nature speaks to the natural progression it
