will happen if globalization is allowed to continue down the path of its progression, noting how risks grow while advantages are "too distant for too many" (The Association for Womens
Rights in Development, 2008). Immense riches are being generated. But fundamental problems of poverty, exclusion and inequality persist. Corruption is widespread. Open societies are threatened by global
terrorism, and the future of open markets is increasingly in question. Global governance is in crisis. We are at a critical juncture, and we need to urgently rethink
our current policies and institutions (The Association for Womens Rights in Development, 2008). Social change is as much a part of mans
existence as needing air to breathe and food to eat. The extent to which social change allows the human race to progress and improve is both grand and far-reaching;
without the advancements inherent to social change -- not the least of which include medical and technological discoveries -- humanity would struggle to stay alive. However, just as necessary
as social change is for mankind, it is not always approached in a way that is beneficial for all concerned. Clearly, the influence of globalization has been both a
