about bilingual education in the public schools. While there is not much literature about critical theory as it applies to bilingual education,
we did manage to find articles that dealt with the aspect of critical theory as it pertains to multicultural education. As such, we will be examining two articles that deal
with the topics of critical theory and how it pertains to multicultural education. The two articles are "Critical Pedagogy, Critical Race Theory, and Antiracist Education: Implications for Multicultural Education" bite

Before demonstrating how the critical theory paradigm fits in with education, it would first be a good idea to offer a brief description of
the critical theory. The critical theory originated in Germany, and is popularly called the Frankfurt School (Jensen). In its simplest form, the critical theory is anti-capitalist, supports the value of
the collective and tries to provide an understanding of how current social conditions have come about them, and how they interact with one another (Jensen). The goal of the
critical theory is to convert current society into one that is just, rational and humane (Jensen). Another goal is to try to create a balance between personal individual autonomy
