question posed to each early arrival. The blank look on Melindas face echoed the one that had been on my face only seconds earlier. But, of course, with her perfectly
pouty lips and astutely applied makeup, she managed to smile her way out of the ordeal by excusing herself to the ladys room. Me? I was still sweating out the
question in the corner of the room while sipping pink frothy punch from a faux frilly laced Styrofoam cup. I failed. I hate failing. When I was six and
in first grade, I forgot my lunchbox at home. Most kids would have informed the teacher, or cried, or done both. Not me. To tell the teacher would be to
