disaster. Systems vulnerabilities lies at the heart of a contingency plan and therefore should include such information as recovery of data systems, provision for off-site storage of data, and a
business continuity plan (disaster plan). Any company that is large enough to have networked computers or a multi-use data system is in dire need of a contingency plan, especially in
the area of system recovery. One of the dangers, however, is to over plan the contingency. In other words, one should not practice overkill on the system recovery plan. A
contingency plan, therefore, must be tailor made to each specific company. For this reason, a fictitious company, named Miracle Films, will serve as an example. Miracle Films is a small
film company based in Southern California. They are a mid-sized company who has developed many low budget films and advertising videos. They are beginning to branch out into more high
end projects and as a result feel that they need to protect their assets better than they have in the past. RECOVERY OF SYSTEMS A contingency plan should
be direct and to the point. In the event that the contingency plan needs to be put into effect, one cannot stand around attempting to interpret the language or the
instructions(Rothstein 1995). Therefore, the contingency plan should be straightforward action statements in order of priority (if and then). One must consider that the only person who will be reading the
