applies to language teaching allows the student to apply the basic concepts and precepts in a real life, personally validating way, so as to make the learning experience meaningful and
a lasting one. What is Constructivism: Human beings seem to have the singular ability among all of the animal kingdom to construct new knowledge based
on what has been learned from others and what has been gained from an exploration and experience of his environment. Everything, in other words, that a person touches, or uses
his/her senses to experience is judged against previously held conceptions about that object or concept. What was discovered by many educational pioneers was that knowledge is only strengthened if one
can successfully apply it to ones own larger world. In other words, and in the often repeated words of every student "Why do I have to know this? And how
will this be useful in my day to day living?" What early educational scholars observed was that mankinds perception of words is not in the
pronunciation or the definition of the word, but in the application and cultural connotation of that word. Each word contains certain experiences, associations, memories, and even emotions that are singularly
different from anyone elses personal definition for the word. Thus, the argument would follow that if one wants something to stick in ones students mind, then one must construct something
