for a child with conduct disorder. Researchers have now discovered that early diagnosis and prevention can allow all those involved in the childs life to take advantage of this molten
state and to effect positive change on the childs psychological structure before it hardens and is more difficult to fix. The analogy of a person with conduct disorder to
glass is a particularly apt one. If the artisan attempts to shape the glass in the molten stage too quickly, it will cave in on itself. If the glassblower does
not take advantage of the precise point of liquidity in the glass, then he will have missed his opportunity to shape it. Many times, if the artisan attempts to make
structural changes to a piece after it has already cooled and hardened, the chances of the work cracking, breaking, or of the additions not adhering in the first place are
greater. The Conduct Problems Prevention Research Group spent a good deal many years tracking and studying prevention implementation for children who were deemed at risk. They state that over a
forty year period violent crime rose nearly six hundred percent, with most of it occurring during adolescence(Journal, 2002). Therefore, it was their assertion that conduct disorders needed to be addressed
at an even earlier stage of the childs life, as early as preschool. This program, which involved a three year study and was federally funded would provide empirical data which
