of the analysis that goes into this particular stage. Because the student wanted some specific examples, but did not name a specific system, we have opted, for purposes, of this
paper, to include an article written by Huber and Budihandogo (2001) that describes "Qualification of Network Components and Validation of Networked Systems," which explains networks and systems used in the
pharmaceutical industry. That, combined with the more general information provided throughout he paper, should help the student be more specific about the system in which he/she is operating on.
Before going any further, it should be known that there are two important phases of development, external and internal (Lay Networks, 2004). External
deals with the actual implementation (which well be focusing on in this paper), planning manual preparation, in-house training, and installation (Lay Networks, 2004). Internal development involves software development and performance
testing (Lay Networks, 2004). In all, many companies are still not certain how to qualify networks and networked systems - and at
least in the pharmaceutical industry, these need to be validated, implemented and updated for compliance reasons, per investigation by the FDA (Huber and Budihandogo, 2001). The main purpose of the
network, after all, is to transport and control data, and to connect computers and peripheral drives with one another (Huber and Budihandogo, 2001). In such a case (particularly in this
industry), the network must be able to prove that data integrity and security both are controlled and properly managed (Huber and Budihandogo, 2001). This is where testing and implementation come
in so handy. Activities During Implementation Coding. A code, in its most basic form, is known as "an ordered collection
