each other, might seem a little out of place. Its assumed that IT personnel can communicate with machines, but thats about it.
In this paper, the student has been asked to approach a senior IT manager to discuss individual views of the importance of 360-degree influential communication to an IT units success.
Given there is no interview on which to base this particular paper, well pose a theoretical interview. To discuss 360-degree influences, though,
we probably need to examine the 360-degree leader. Maxwell (2006) points to the 360-degree leader as someone who is likely in middle management; who must lead others, though he/she is
not necessarily the boss of the whole company. Maxwell points out that the 360-degree leader can lead up (by supporting the companys leadership and listening to the leaders), lead down,
by nurturing and supporting subordinates, and even lead across, meaning "being there" for co-workers (Maxwell, 2006). But its likely that the IT
manager that is being interviewed will say that he/she doesnt have time to cultivate a 360-degree mentality. Likely, he or she will point out that the job, first and foremost,
involves planning, directing and coordinating development, implementation and operation of information systems and tech solutions that keep the corporation running (PayScale.com, 2009). Technical expertise is important, as is the knowledge
