Club IT, a downtown music venue managed and owned by partners Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada, are great at managing nightclubs but
when it comes to information technology, not so much. Though the partners put a great deal of money into remodeling the interior of the club, they now need information technology
solutions to help improve efficiencies and (hopefully) to reduce costs. In an overview of Club ITs business problems, weve come up with
the following issues. Problem: Lack of information technology integration between different departments in the organization. Financial and business-related records are maintained by the
partners. But no one else (like the accountant) has access to them without asking. Furthermore, there is no technology in place (that we can see) which measures employees hours, payroll
information or anything else. There is also no integration between the supply chain and accounting, which likely means that invoices arent being paid in a timely fashion.
Solution: Research, design and implement an enterprise resource plan (ERP). Enterprise Resource Planning provides an integrated information
system that serves all departments in an organization (Definition of ERP, 2010). If planned properly, an ERP system can (and should) include software for everything from order entry and accounts
