few things. First, society, as a whole, is a stable, self-regulating entity geared to serve peoples basic needs. Second, society is made up of social institutions that are interdependent -
and changes in one require adjustments in other areas. With these definitions of society in mind, well answer the following questions based
on the article. What does cloning contribute to society as a whole? In this particular scenario, cloning is dedicated to helping couples
who may be unable to conceive, achieve better chances through in vitro fertilization. The problem with many infertile couples is that even with in vitro methods, chances of conception are
still pretty low. Robert Stillman and Jerry Hall, in performing experiments on cloning, wanted to see of cloning in humans is as feasible as cloning among cattle (a technique that
has already been in existence for awhile). In the minds of Stillman and Hall, human cloning was pretty much the next step in the area of in vitro fertilization -
mainly, helping infertile couples have a batter chance of conception that had been experienced in the past. In other arenas, human cloning
could allow a woman (who might be undergoing chemotherapy) to having an embryo cloned for future use; or even to cure genetic diseases in other children. For example, if a
couple knew that their children had a chance of inheriting a genetic disease, cloning could take the problem out of this. How is cloning connected to other institutions?
