After the names have been changed to protect the not-so-very innocent. This modern retelling of the Cinderella story features the young girl named, Danielle. Danielle is a French maiden who
would rather be running the fields than sitting in a drawing room with her step sisters. Which is just as well since it is her proclivity for running wild through
the forests that brings her squarely in company with Prince Charming (whose name has also been changed to Henry). "Some people read because they cant think," says Danielles step
mother when she catches her reading a Thomas More book on politics and the perfect society. This really sets the tone for the Cinderella of this version. She is bright,
intelligent, strong and aggressive. Prince Henry is also an updated Prince Charming. Henry, facing the prospect of an arranged marriage to a Spanish princess, flees the confines of the
castle where he runs into a surly servant girl: Danielle(who beans him with an apple). Later, when he sees her in some of her sisters borrowed clothes he is
certain that she is of royal bloodlines. Taking pity on the boy, the King gives Henry five days to find a different princess other than the one that has
