"standard" calendar year. The speech would also make the argument that the Chinese New Year is very similar in style to the Western New Year.
In terms of the introduction, the speech could offer an attention-getter such as "The Chinese New Year brings to mind parades filled with paper dragons and lanterns.
It also brings to mind some interesting horoscopes, as we find out if were in the Year of the Rat or the Year of the Rabbit." The student could then
go on to say that in reality, there are very few differences between the Western New Year and the Chinese New Year.
Then the speech would go on to discuss what, exactly, the Chinese New Year was really about; a fun, festive time that, at one time, celebrated the bounty of the
