these crimes are little worse. Maybe not a little worse, but much, much worse. This is because not only has the crime itself turned the child into a victim, but what the child goes through in terms of the legal system itself. Sometimes, after having gone through the system, from reporting the crime, to having to stand trial, the child ends up feeling even more abused and victimized than he or she did when the crime was committed against the child in the first place. No adult (especially an adult with children) likes to think of a child that is suffering as a victim of a particular crime; theres something about the innocence of a child that makes victimization against him or her a little hard to take. This, at least, is the view taken by authors Jane Morgan and Lucia Zedner in their book Crime Victims - Crime, Impact and Criminal Justice. The book was published in 1992 by Clarendon Publications in London, with an ISBN number of 0-19-925700-7. The paperback version offers 218 pages. The important thing about this book is that its considered by many experts to be a "breakthrough" book - for the most part, while studies of victimization of adults of crime have been printed and researched, the same cant necessarily be said of those same studies being done on children.
