"Ten Commandments," Andersons Nine-Phase Change Model, Lights Six Steps and Leppitts Integrated Model. The main differences between these models is the number
of steps it takes from deciding that the change needs to be made, to finally arriving at the destination when change is made.
In the "Ten Commandments," Kanter, along with colleagues Stein and Jick, first suggest an analysis for the need for change; creation of a shared vision; separation from the past; creation
of a sense of urgency; support of a strong leader; lining up political sponsorship; crafting an implementation plan; developing enabling structures; communicating others and finally, reinforcing and institutionalizing change.
An even longer list of change "musts" comes in Leppitts model, who suggests that context be understood; that the vision and strategy are
understood; creation and communicating the urgency for change; building consensus, establishing clear leadership; building organizational capability; creating a cultural fit to ensure the change lasts; choosing and developing a change
