heads and say "why would she be talking on the phone while actually peeing? Is nothing private anymore?" Apparently not. About three
years ago, when the Richard Wagner opera "Die Valkyrie" was being performed by the Dallas Opera, the unthinkable happened. During a quiet aria, sung splendidly by a soprano, someones cell
phone went off. It wasnt quiet, either -- though the person with the cell phone was on the main floor of the music center, the ringing drifted back to the
balcony. What made the situation worse was that the ringing continued -- either the person wasnt aware of the fact that the phone was going off, or simply couldnt figure
out how to shut it off. It was such a negative experience, that the next day, in the midst of a critical review in the local newspaper describing the opera
in glowing terms, the writer had a jab for the person with the cell phone to turn it off next time, it ruined the mood.
Its safe to say that cell phones are an ubiquitous part of society. While just a decade ago, that opera-goer probably would have been happy to wait
until he or she got home to collect phone calls, the call was to important to wait. Because of cell phones, people are connected to one another more than ever
