been more vital in todays competitive marketplace. The completion of a degree does not meet with the long help presumption that a student will be immediately and aggressively recruited for
top paying jobs away from the academic world in which the student has existed for 12-14 years or more. It would seem, that as sophisticated and technology sharp as young
professionals are today, that there is still a great deal of naivet? about what it really means to have and hold a job, to answer to an authority that may
or may not have your best interests at heart, and the reality of starting at an entry level position. From a Christian perspective, one could pursue the usual routes of
skills testing and partnering/shadowing programs, with the additional level, if the school system permits, of counseling to student himself. What does the student hope to gain from his or her
choice of vocation? Are his or her motives geared for his or her own well being, or is the person seeking a particular vocation for all the wrong reasons. From
a Christian perspective, biblical references can be shown which indicate that each individual has a purpose and a destiny to fulfill and the counselor can help the student in that
search. But what if that student is disabled in some way? The task of the career counselor is just made more difficult by the fact that the person asking
