1. Executive Summary Firms need to change and evolve. The paper considers the case of a firm where management if the incoming and outgoing
goods where the supply chain is important, but the system is only partly computerised and is fragmented with a high reliance on paperwork. The paper suggests the use of a
new ICT system in order to change the process to increase efficiency and savings. The use of requirements engineering will allow the firm to develop a system that meets the
firm needs at the same time as involving the users in order to ensure that the system is effective and adopted to become an integral part of the value chain
within the firm. 2. Introduction Systems that have been in place for any years will often need changing, where they are based on manual systems it maybe argued
that there is often the potential for IT solution to transform the processes in a firm empowering users and creating savings. However this requires investment, so firms will want to
have a degree of certainty that they will gain benefits. By looking at an example company it is possible to see how ICT could be introduced with a new
