is intentional, it occurs over time, and it directly involves an imbalance in power with the bully holding the power and the victim not having power. Bullying behaviors are hostile
and they may be indirect or direct. Bullying behaviors include physical attacks, such as shoving, hitting, kicking, and pushing, and verbal attacks such as teasing, name-calling, and threatening (Est?vez, Murgui
and Musitu, 2009; Gini et al., 2006). There is also relationship bullying behaviors that intend to hurt someones reputation or harm their relations with others, such as spreading rumors,
telling lies about the person, gossiping, telling others not to talk to the person, ignoring them or excluding them, or other things that interfere with social relationships (Est?vez, Murgui and
Musitu, 2009; Gini et al., 2006). The consequences of bullying are dramatic and long-term. Research has repeatedly shown that victims of bullying experience great distress, depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, low
self-esteem, low sense of self-worth, a total lack of confidence, and a host of psychosomatic illnesses and symptoms like headaches, stomach aches and others. They also tend to feel very
lonely (Est?vez, Murgui and Musitu, 2009). They may suffer injuries and some victims have attempted to commit or have committed suicide. Data reveal that at least 19,000 children and teenagers
tried to kill themselves each year because they are victims (Miller, 2011). With more than 75 percent of students admitting they have been the victim of bullying, this situation is
