distorted body image also resulted in emotional ups and downs; her emotional stability depended on her capacity to maintain her figure and fit into constricting "costumes" for public view.
Family Medical History Dianas family medical history includes the presence of parental alcoholism that contributed to the divorce of her parents. There is also some evidence of a family
history of depression, noted in both her mother and brother. Past Social and Developmental History Diana was a relatively quiet child who lived in a two-family home until
she was eight, when her parents divorced. The divorce of her parents hit the Princess hard, and she developed depressive symptoms during her early adolescence that would follow her
