including the use of computer models for language learning, have occurred because of the need to address different learning styles and allow for a hands-on learning approach. Educators, recognizing
the emerging value of computer systems, have integrated this into many different areas of study, including language learning. Increasingly, the use
of microcomputers in the classroom setting has been viewed as a necessity for emerging learning models. Researchers have argued that the earlier students are exposed to computer learning models,
the earlier they will develop the necessary skills to demonstrate true academic achievement. Other theorists have questioned the necessity for computer-based educational models at all, arguing that the application
of learned technologies across curriculum has not been demonstrated in existing studies (Peha, 1995). In the midst of questions regarding the application of computer-based learning models, a number of
theorists have supported the development of new systems for the use of technology, including the virtual environment. One technique studied by theorists like Charles P. Reinart (1989) includes
the use of a virtual environment in which a student is exposed to verbal descriptions of images, including the use of rich sensory details, and assessments of the effect of
this process on language acquisition and thinking ability over time. For elementary school children, the use of this kind of computer-based learning system provides a basis for determining
the connection between verbal imaging and changes in perceptions. The use of on-line discourse in a virtual environment is especially beneficial in the development of Chinese language learning, based
on elements of the language and the function of visual elements relative to language learning. In understanding this premise, it is necessary to consider some of the views of
