These costs are both direct and indirect costs including the wages and benefits packages and the employers costs such as the recruitment and training to develop the skills of the staff in order to provide serve at the correct level. Therefore, this may be extended to cover the indirect costs of managing the employees with the costs of the human resource management functions which will be very important in the way the staff are managed and their overall attitude. Training and HR costs may be seen as an investment just as maintenance if the company used machinery. If Ramook Ltd. Was operating a heavy machinery hire business it is likely that there would be a different cost profile. The service would be focused on physical rather than human assets, therefore there would still be the labour costs, but the labour would be focused on the way the machinery was hired out. This means that there would be a higher level of costs on machinery maintenance; this would include the parts needed to maintain the machinery as well as the facilities to store the equipment not in use. Where there are a large level of physical assets the assets will also need protecting, as such costs will also include relevant insurances for the equipment while on and off of the companys property.
