A PRINCE It has been states that prior to the birth of Siddhartha Gotama, a wandering fortuneteller told Gotamas father, the king at the time of smaller portion of an
entire kingdom of Kosala, that his son would become either a religious leader of enormous influence of the king of the entire world. It appears from this biography, that both
opportunities were possible for Siddhartha Gotama. His mother, Queen Maya died shortly after his birth and he was given to his mothers sister to be raised. He was
originally named Prince Siddhartha that means wish fulfilled. As a prince, he has a very luxurious lifestyle and did not have to want for anything. All of his
material needs were met. As a young prince, he wore the finest clothes and had several palaces to live in depending of the time of year. As a
member of the royal family, servants looked him after. LIFE CHANGES The prince was married at the young age of 16 to a princess called Yasodhara and they lived a
happy married life. However, Siddhartha Gotama started to question what he observed in the world. At the time, it was accepted that someone who wished to live a life of
spiritual development could renounce the world, give up all his material possessions and live the life a homeless wanderer or ascetic. He began to think in his own mind about
the possibility that he too could renounce the world in order to search for a solution to the question of human suffering. At the age of 29, he made the
