John Bryson (1995) defines strategic planning as "...a disciplined effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization
is, what it does, and why it does it" (p. 45). Coulter (2002) expands planning to include analysis, implementation and evaluation to form strategic management. Taking the larger
view is advisable because "organizations of all types and sizes continually face changing situations" (Coulter, 2002; p. 5), and organizations can be successful only if they plan for change and
manage it rather than only react to it. The 10-Step Process Bryson (1995) offers a detailed roadmap to strategy formulation and management in
