Indeed, cable companies across the nation are gearing up for the switch, and are focusing significant attention on expanding their virtual monopolies to include broadband
Internet access services (Chester, 2003). Many of the wireless networks are offering many products - not just those dealing with the Internet (The Future of Communications and E-Commerce, 2003).
However, as technology continues to advance and permeate our society, broadband Internet access will continue to be more pervasive and will continue to replace traditional broadcasting extensively, if not
entirely (The Future of Communications and E-Commerce, 2003). Broadcasters however, are banking on the belief that entertainment will not change so drastically, and that people will generally remain linear
in terms of their television viewing habits (The Future of Communications and E-Commerce, 2003). This isnt necessarily so however.
History has proven the power of the Internet, and that power continues to grow by leaps and bounds every day. Broadband Internet access is able to provide customers with
