doctor. Although the book is yet to be released, it is said that Brazelton uses his Touchpoints philosophy from earlier publications. In fact, Touchpoints is now something that many parents
embrace as a way to follow the development of their young infants and children. Brazelton and his co-author Dr. Joshua Sparrow have collaborated before, and while they are known
as a team to some extent, Brazelton has become famous over the past decade or so and is somewhat like the Dr. Spock of the 1990s and 2000s. In
fact, Halpern (2003) notes that Brazelton saw Spock as his own hero, but there are significant differences between the two pediatricians. Spock went for emotions, but Brazelton concentrates on
learning (2003). Indeed, Dr. Spock has been considered the pediatrician who ruined an entire generation by some due to that focus, but others applaud him for his insights. Anyway, Brazelton
is really not all that different. Dr. Brazelton has a heart and recognizes that babies and young children have significant psychological needs, like Spock. Ann Hulbert says of Brazelton that
he is "the pediatrician on call at the birth of the new field of infant cognition" (2003). Before Brazelton came on the scene, one would look at emotions as
opposed to the brain being a processor of information (2003). Essentially, there has been a paradigm shift in the way that children are raised today, and in part, this may
be attributable to Brazelton himself. While Brazelton is known among pediatricians and has written many books, he has also been seen on the Lifetime network show called What Every
