faith of Christianity. It is a story that shows the worst side of humanity and the best side of being human. The following paper offers up a book report of
this work. Book Report on The Heavenly Man by Paul Hattaway The book begins as follows: "My name is Liu Zhenying.
My Christian friends call me Brother Yun" (Hattaway; Liu, 2003; 15). From there it takes the reader on a journey of this mans life and his determination. As a young
man he was truly taken with Christianity and with Jesus. He was so taken with the religion that he fasted and ultimately almost starved himself as he waited for a
Bible. A Bible was not something that was easily obtained in China for anyone who had one would be beaten by officials. It was not allowed. Yet, Yun was determined
and incredibly faithful. The story shows how he did obtain a Bible through his fast and immediately set about reading the Bible and memorizing it.
The story continues and shows how Yun would recite portions of the Bible to people, completely from memory. Many of the listeners were incredibly taken, and immediately
believed in the faith he preached for he was such an amazing speaker and his passion and faith was obvious. As he grew more noted and recognized his life became
threatened for Christianity was not allowed in China and when he was only still a teenager he was arrested for the first time because of his preaching and his faith.
