instructional tool because he takes all of the basic concepts associated with Christianity and breaks them down into three sections entitled "Know the Lord," "Behold Your God!," and "If God
Be For Us..." However, the book is more than just an education on Religion 101 or yet another in a seemingly endless list of interpretations of Christianity. The
author explains basic terminology and concepts, but in so doing he is accomplishing a higher purpose, which he states eloquently in the first section, which answers the question, "Why should
people know God?" To that, the author responds, "Knowing about God is crucially important for the living of our lives... Disregard the study of God, and you sentence yourself
to stumble and blunder through life blindfolded, as it were, with no sense of direction and no understanding of what surrounds you. This way you can waste your life and
lose your soul" (Packer, 1993, p. 19). From there, the author thoughtfully and concisely states his case that knowing God is as a necessity of life as food, water,
and comfort. The people who make no effort to know God cannot understand the world in which they live or themselves. As the book demonstrates, God is not
housed in a church. He is everywhere and for everyone. The author argues that denying oneself to any knowledge of God or what He represents is like putting
