and large injustices as it involves life itself. In truth, life involves a great deal of suffering whether people like to accept it or not. In Ellis Coses book Bone
to Pick: Of Forgiveness, Reconciliation, Reparation, and Revenge the author notes that somehow people remember pain, suffering, injustice, and wrongs far more strongly than they ever will remember good things.
He also indicates that people handle such memories and experiences in many different ways. The following paper offers a reflection paper on Coses book.
Bone to Pick Many people may assume they have never experienced anything as horrific as many of the people Cose examines in his work. For example, he states,
when speaking of a woman who was shot in the head and left for dead, only to survive and thrive, that her story "was unimaginably horrific-infinitely more so than anything
most of us are ever likely to go through. Yet, in a sense, her challenge is one we have all faced" because people all feel they have been unjustly harmed
in one way or another in their lives and that people learn to deal with those harms (Cose, 2005; 1-2). This particular reader/writer was made to think, at first,
that surely they had experienced unjust realities, but not really. In short, while this reader/writer has experienced the death of family members through illness, this does not necessarily feel unjust
for this is life and this is something that affects all people eventually. It is normal. This further urged this reader/writer to access how they could not necessarily relate, personally,
to what Cose was saying, although it was very real that this reader/writer comprehended and even empathized with his stories. Then it hit that this individual has a daughter who
