working to expand its product line and services to meet customer needs. The company, which is organized into two business units, employs nearly 160,000 people in the United States alone.
The two units include the Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense, Space and Security division. Boeing has been building commercial jet airliners for nearly 50 years. Today, the main commercial
products are the 737, 747, 767 and 777 families of airplanes as well as the Boeing Business Jet. Boeing has approximately 12,000 commercial jetliners in service worldwide, which compromises about
