and famous songs, Redemption Song. Bob Marley Bob "Marley was born on Jamaica to a young black mother and an older white father" in 1945 (Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame). His mother, Cedilla Booker, was a teenager when she became pregnant with Bob, and his father, Norvell Marley, was a supervisor on a plantation (Afiwi.com). "Marley never
knew his father" (Afiwi.com). In his early teen years he would end up moving to Trenchtown, the inner city of Kingston where he would clearly be strongly influenced in
his music and his identity (Afiwi.com). According to one author: "A precocious musician, a teenaged Marley formed a vocal trio in 1963 with friends Neville Bunny ORiley Livingston (later
