In this article, there is a great deal of information relayed in respect to professionalism and what an individual would need to know in order to discuss athletics with an
appropriate amount of knowledge. The author speaks with authority. The tone is somewhat outraged but nevertheless informative. In other words, while Bob Barcelona may be on a rant, the piece
focuses on providing solid material to back up his angst. His words suggest that he is stating facts, and not just giving his opinion. In other words, he is not
vague or hesitant in his writing. Rather, he just states what he needs to say and assumes that the audience will trust his insights. Additionally, he provides information from a
variety of cited sources and notes information from the U.S. Department of Labor for example. In terms of content, Barcelonas article is certainly complete. There are perhaps extraneous facts
relayed. The article begins with strength by providing a sense that this will be controversial. But then the author quickly changes the tone from one that may be aligned with
outrage, to one that is merely authoritative. It is not as if the author himself is criticizing others and is not credentialed himself. He is. In fact, the biography that
appears at the end of the article explains that he is an Assistant Professor. He does hold a doctorate. At the same time, no one would really deem him a
renown expert. He is educated and his opinion is valid, but certainly, the information he relays is not fact. While content is perhaps good, the organization is less than
ideal. The article is somewhat disorganized as facts are relayed in haphazard fashion. The article begins with no subtitle and halfway through, only one subtitle is relayed: "Academic Preparation and
