moved into position for its next stage of production. The nervous tension that has gripped her heart causes beads of sweat to form on her brow, but this telltale
sign of her inner turmoil does not worry her. Here in the sweltering cramped confines of Chinas Guangdong factory everybody sweats. One small mistake. One small mistake in
her assigned portion of the garments production that she did not notice until it was too late and the garment had already begun the journey to the next stage of
its development. Blinking rapidly to keep her eyes clear of the tears of sweat that threaten to obscure her vision, she silently prays that her error is too small
to be noticed before it is obscured by the work of the others. She risks taking her eyes fully off of her work only long enough to sneak a
quick peek at the girl who kneels on the floor beside her workstation farther up toward the front of the factory. She has been there for a long time
now and soon they should finally allow her to rise, reclaim her seat and continue with her work. The kneeling girl had also made a small mistake, but her
garment had barely reached its next stage before the error was detected and the alarm was raised. As she returns her eyes to her work, a quick sideways glance tells
her that the garment has been passed on to the next stage and she breathes an inward sigh of relief before returning her full attention to the tasks that must
be completed in the three remaining hours of her daily seventeen hour shift. If this scenario seems dramatic, it is because it is dramatic, for it is an accurate description
