have tended to come the fastest. While there is no doubt that many of these technologies have fundamentally improved the quality of life experienced by humans across the world, there
are plenty of criticisms that can be made about the rapid pace of technological advancement. This issue becomes particularly pressing when one considers the area of biotechnology and the ethical
concerns that surround it. This paper will provide an overview of biotechnology, followed by a dialogue between myself and a biotechnology expert on the topic of what biotechnological advancement means
for the human organism. This paragraph helps the student provide an overview of biotechnology and some of the controversies surrounding it. Biotechnology is loosely define as any technology which depends
upon or modifies the body apparatus in some fashion. This might include, for example, something as radical as genetic engineering, or something as commonplace as the use of medicines to
alter the way in which the body functions. Because of the potential for biotechnology to alter the dimensions and context of the human organism, there are many potential controversies involving
