and his parents thought that something was wrong, but when he was tested by a psychologist, Mr. and Mrs. Gates were informed that Bill was rather special. "He has a genius level I.Q." Dr. Barnard said. "We think he should be educated at the finest schools rather than at the local academy." The doctor explained that Alfred Binet had been tinkering with this I.Q. thing since the start of the century (Shobris, 1996). However, Barnard and his cohorts really think there is something to it. So off Bill went. He would go to a boarding school where he was afforded the best education. He was also an experiment of sorts. After while, it was learned that Bill could do more than most, but that he lacked in a very important area, which is common sense. The term common sense may be ambiguous, but it seemed that while Gates was a genius in terms of electronics, he lacked the wherewithal to be able to tie his own shoes, socialize with the other boys, and even the ability to properly brush his own teeth. But Bill was smart and when he grew up would receive a scholarship to MIT. It was there that he met his soon to be arch rivals, Bill Hewlett and David Packard. Bill attended MIT part time after a stint at Stanford ( "Agilent," 2002). That is where the two Bills would meet. "Hi, Im Bill," Hewlett extended his hand to Gates. "Me too," was Gatess reply. The two of them were inseparable for awhile as they talked electronics and decided to start a company. It would be Bill & Bill Electronics. But then, as chance would have it, David arrived for a visit and Bill and David would become awfully close. Years had passed and ...
