Some just hate him because he is the quintessential American success story. As engineers buy their Lotto tickets each week after a tough day at IBM, Gates retires to his
self designed mansion. There is a great deal of envy. Another reason people tend to dislike him is they truly do not
believe he deserves the acclaim. In other words, his products are not superior. Rather, his ability to sell his wares is what keeps him the dominant force in the computer
industry. Tee shirts were popular a couple of years ago that had the saying "Windows 95" on the front and "Mac 86" on the back. Many do believe that the
system he created is actually a rip off of other products. But Gatess story is in fact an American success stgroy. That is, anyone can make it if they try
hard enoght. Althoug Gates came from a priveldgged backgrfoudn, the kind that could afford a stint at Harvard, Gatess success came from his one business savvy and scientific ingenutity.
Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington ("Gates" PG). His knickname was, or at least his family called him,
Trey (PG). Bills father was a successful attorney and his mther was a promintnet member of the community due to the volunteer work she had done (PG). He attended
